Our Tea Party!
I believe my earlier estimation was WAY off. From the looks of it, we may have had over 1,500 present at the Tea Party. I'm doing my best at the moment to grab an accurate count. 1,500 is huge for a town of less than 500,000.
The speakers were moving and passionate. It makes me feel great that there are others that will not stand up for the outrageous tax-and-spend policies of the Obama Administration, our entire legislative (failure) branch, and our disgraceful state Governor, Steve Beshear.

I'm enjoying your posts about the tea parties, and was really interested in what happened in Lexington. I lived there a couple of times, for maybe a dozen years or so total.
Glad to see people are getting out and making some noise. The MSM may not be listening, but I have a feeling politicians ignore it at there peril.
Thanks David. I myself was surprised at the turnout. As you well know, Lexington hasn't always been known for it's conservatism.
Anonymous, there's nothing substantive about protesting a war that you know will be ended prematurely by a man that you elected. To call a protest against running up a debt that can't be paid, selling our country to a communist nation in the process, and having a massive spending orgy full of waste not substantive shows your ignorance.

I guess it would be easy for a liberal to dismiss a protest that they don't agree with as a "radio station promotion" Here's the funny thing about this: You call this a radio station promotion when attendance and participation is voluntary, however participation and attendance in Obama's plan to rob the American people of money to waste on big government is not.

Yes, it was a radio station promotion cleverly disguised as a "grass roots" movement. Just take a look at the WLAP signes behind the speakers. That's why the paper wouldn't cover it just as they would not cover other blatantly promotional events. It was not "news", it was publicity.

A paper wouldn't cover it because all of the newspapers in Kentucky are owned by very public liberals that refuse to report in an unbiased fashion and provide government accountability. I dare you to prove otherwise.
A rebuttal without proof is your agreement that your commentary is worthless.
Then again, if they did hold the government accountable, the Federal Government wouldn't pump money into such a dying, useless media, like the're trying to do now.
